Alkaline YOU
pH Levels and a Healthy Body
pH Levels and a Healthy Body
A healthy body is dependent on each and every one of its cells – healthy cells influence the capacity of how organs such as the heart, lungs, kidneys and liver function. Cells are multifunctional like electrical generators, they respire like a lung and bring nutrients and remove toxins. Healthy cells create healthy tissues and healthy tissues create healthy organs. Healthy organs in turn create healthy systems like the endocrine system or the immune system. With these systems running at peak capacity the end result is a healthy body and great vitality.
What is pH balance?
pH is an abbreviation for 'power of hydrogen' and is a measuring unit of acidity and alkalinity. The pH of your tissues and body fluid for a healthy body should be between 7.35-7.45 (the lower the number the more acidic) and your body will work hard to maintain this balance even at the detriment of your long term health. If a body is too acidic it this will have an adverse effect on your body and long term health. You will need to balance the alkalinity in your body to rebalance the pH level.
What does Alkaline mean?
Alkaline simply means the ability to neutralise acids.
What are the downsides of an unhealthy pH balance?
The pH level shows increase and decrease of acid and alkaline contents and when the body can no longer neutralise and eliminate the acids it relocates them in the body. The entire metabolic process depends on a healthy balanced pH. If left unchecked this can have detrimental consequences on the heart, lungs, digestion, circulation, hormones etc. Too much acid build up is a build up of poisonous waste that can slowly corrode body tissues such as veins and arteries – what we know as an haemorrhage.
What are the benefits of an Alkaline Diet?
By eliminating harmful acids and balancing your pH level (eating Alkaline food) you will create healthy cells which in turn will create healthy tissues - healthy blood, organs and a healthy alkaline you.
What causes the imbalance?
Acidic foods, stress - acidic thoughts, lack of exercise and not enough water.
What are the symptoms?
Headaches, lethargy or chronic fatigue, poor weight management - over or underweight, acne, colds, bronchitis, infections and joint pains.
What can I do to balance and alkaline my body?
Do not punish yourself - start small and if you fall - do not worry just go back to it.
- Begin by drinking lots of fresh filtered water – even rain water can be acidic – acid rain for example.
