In modern life we are often racing through our “to do” lists and trying to keep everything running smoothly - both at home and at work. This constant “doing” can cause stress - we have little time to relax and assess our feelings or what is going on around us. The constant bombardment of information, deadlines and family commitments wear us out both physically and mentally. It can leave us with little time to take in and truly appreciate what we have and the world around us. This can lead us to a feeling of being disconnected from ourselves and our loved ones. By taking the time to reconnect with ourselves and nature, and do things that give us pleasure, we get back into our natural rhythm which is very beneficial to our well-being. When we slow down our mental gymnastics it can lead to greater clarity and help clear our minds, regulate our adrenals and eliminate fatigue, helping us regain lost energy.
